Day 1: Sunday, July 6th: Italy - Anchorage
Departure from Italy via scheduled flight. Arrival in Anchorage in the early afternoon. Completion of customs formalities. Meeting with the local assistant for transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay.
Day 2: Monday, July 7th: Anchorage - Copper River
Breakfast at the hotel. Pick up of rental motorcycles and departure for the first leg of the tour to the Copper River crossroads, visiting, along the way, the Matanuska Glacier, whose 43 km long glacial tongue makes it the largest glacier in Alaska. Arrival at Copper Mine where the gold rush still leaves its traces. Check-in and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3: Tuesday, July 8th: Copper River - McCarthy - Copper River
Breakfast on your own. In unspoiled nature along an easy dirt road, we arrive at McCarthy, a small town of miners and gold diggers that gives us a taste of the true wild Alaska, of the gold diggers. Return to Copper River in the afternoon. Overnight stay.
Day 4: Wednesday, July 9th: Copper River - Valdez
Crossing the Elias National Park and Preserve, the largest National Park in the United States, and the Thompson Pass, one of the most scenic passes in the world, you arrive in Valdez, one of the most important ports in Alaska.
Day 5: Thursday, July 10th: Stop in Valdez
A day stop that allows us to take a mini-cruise (included in the fee) among the ice of the Columbia Glacier in Prince William Sound. Overnight stay.
Day 6: Friday, July 11th: Valdez - Paxson
Breakfast at the hotel. Taking the US 4 that brought us to Valdez, we return north to the heart of the Alaska Range where we will take the Denali Hwy for about 40 km to the shores of Lake Tangle. Return to Paxson for overnight stay.
Day 7: Saturday, July 12th: Paxson - Alaska Range - Fairbanks
Breakfast on your own. Today we reach the last frontier before the Far North. We travel along the Richardson Highway, the oldest Scenic Road in Alaska to Fairbanks at the edge of the Arctic Circle, also a historic city born from the gold rush. Overnight stay in Fairbanks.
Day 8: Sunday, July 13th: Stop in Fairbanks
Breakfast at the hotel. Free day available. We can visit the Museum of the North, at the University of Fairbanks, or Gold Dredge # 9, with the history of the gold rush explained aboard a steam train .... or venture for a stretch along the legendary Dalton Highway. Overnight stay in Fairbanks.
Day 9: Monday July 14 Fairbanks – Denali Ntl Park
Breakfast at the hotel. The route proceeds along the scenic Parks Highway where you can make various stops. We will arrive in the afternoon at McKinley Chalet Resort, along the Parks Highway, right on the edge of Denali National Park where you can see the majestic Mount Denali (formally Mt. McKinley) and admire brown bears along the banks of the Susitna River. Overnight stay.
Day 10: Tuesday July 15 Denali National Park
Free breakfast. We dedicate the day to visiting the largest park in Alaska where we will have the opportunity to admire the beauty of animals such as Brown Bears and Grizzlies, Wolves and the famous White-Headed Sea Eagle, symbol of the USA. Return to the hotel in the afternoon. Overnight.
11th day: Wednesday 16th July Denali – Seward
Free breakfast. We continue south along the Parks Highway crossing Talkeetna, a trading post when a gold deposit was discovered on the Susitna River. We continue on the Road along one of the most important roads in the world, the historic US 1 south towards Seward, until we reach Kenai Fjords National Park. As we proceed along the picturesque Turnagain Channel you can see Dall sheep climbing on the rocky cliffs, moose, bears and eagles or … whales in the sea. Free meals. Overnight in Seward.
12th day: Thursday 17th July Seward – Homer
Free breakfast. For our penultimate stop we push on to the southernmost point of the nation that can be reached by road, Homer, whose nickname is precisely “At the End of the Road” from which we can enjoy the spectacle of the Kenai Peninsula with its peaks and glaciers that extend to infinity. Overnight stay.
Day 13: Friday 18 July Homer – Anchorage
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from our hotel to return to Anchorage, the final stop on our road trip in the Wilderness. Arrival and return of the motorcycles in the afternoon. Return to the hotel and rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay.
Day 14: Saturday 19 July Anchorage – Italy
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport and departure for Italy with a flight operated by Lufthansa
15th day: Sunday 20 July Arr. in Italy
Arrival in Italy expected in the afternoon
